    I am choosing to research and write about the the company Supreme New York because I am a big fan of their clothing. I have been wearing it for about 6 years now and it has really opened up a new passion and hobby of mine which is fashion and streetwear. While this isn't necessarily my favorite brand of all time, it is what got me into this field and it is by far the most popular rand in all of streetwear. 

    

    In summary, Supreme as a company was created in New York City. It has obviously expanded globally now but that is where they originated their company. That being said, they wanted to try a new, more physical, marketing tactic in the heart of the city. So, they contacted the city council and paid for one of the subways in the metro area to be completely branded one of them to have their logo all over it, as seen in the photo above. One takeaway I got from this article is that sometimes trying something new in the advertising world, can have a large impact in a good way for your company. Another takeaway I got from this article was that sometimes bad press, is good press. As one could guess, not everyone in the city liked the change to the subway and took it to the media to complain. The last takeaway I got from the article is that one of the best ways to promote your product, especially in the fashion industry, is to collaborate with other brands and companies. 







    

    The Value Proposition for this company is that they offer high-quality clothing at an initial low price. However, the community that buys the clothes likes to resell them for extreme levels of profit because of the limited quantity of clothes that they put out. This creates a fun and competitive market for the buyers and sellers. The marketing relevance explored in this article was big. The reason that the company decided to do this was to first of all, celebrate the up and coming new year, and to promote the new "season" of their clothing. This created lots of hype and excitement around the new drop of clothing which led to bigger lines at their stores around the world and more demand for their products. While Supreme is a giant company, it only really caters to a small audience. Not everyone can afford these clothes and not everyone like to wear their designs. The people that wear this type of clothing are typically a bit younger and not many older people like to wear this genre of clothing. 

    If I were in charge of the marketing campaign of this company, I would do similar things. I think that because the clothing industry has such a competitive market, it is important to make big and bold marketing statements so that it gets people talking about your product, even if they are not your normal buyers. I learned from this article many marketing tactics that I plan on learning more about and implementing in my own marketing when the time comes to do so. I love to see companies make big strides and bold moves and that is exactly what Supreme did last month.
